Our Legacy

We strive to convey the message of Islam to fellow citizens and reconstruct the society by developing individuals and reforming all collective institutions.

Jamaat-e-Islami was founded on 26 August 1941 at Lahore under the leadership of Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maududi in the undivided India. After the independence of India, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) was officially established on 16th April 1948 at a meeting in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, having its own body of fundamental principles and a separate leadership and structure

Objective

‘Iqaamat-e-Deen’ is our objective. The term Iqaamat-e-Deen’ literally means establishing and upholding the Islamic way of life, which is the duty of every Muslim. We convey the message of God (Deen) to all human beings and urge them to make it the guiding principle in all the arenas of their lives including individual and collective ones. The real motive of which is solely the achievement of divine pleasure and success in the Hereafter.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind condemns Udaipur murder

We condemn the barbaric and uncivilized murder of Kanhaiyalal of Udaipur. There is no room for justification for such violence in Islam. Those found guilty of his murder should be punished according to the law of the land.
